President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to participate in the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group from May 25 to 29, 2015.

Other highpoints of the meetings are the election of the Bank’s 8th President, the commemoration of its 50th Anniversary, and the formal admission of South Sudan as its 54th regional member country and its 80th global member.

The 50th Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank’s Board of Governors and the 41th Meetings of the Board of Governors of the Bank’s concessionary window, the African Development Fund (ADF), signal the Bank Group’s return to its headquarters in Abidjan after more than 11 years in Tunis, Tunisia. Hon. Sumo Kupee is the most recent former Senator of the Food-basket county of Lofa; a position he held for 9 consecutive years providing qualitative representation and leadership for the third populated county in the country. As a son of Zolowo town, Mr. Kupee has been one leader that has remained steadfast in ensuring that peace, tranquility and development take root in LofaCounty since the crisis came to an end a decade ago. In concert with other prominent sons and daughters of Lofa, he has honestly worked in reconciling the people of Lofa County. He has been a champion for various developmental initiatives including poverty eradication, capacity building for young people, humanitarian assistance, and donations to worthy causes among others. Through the ‘Sumo Kupee Humanitarian and Education Foundation’, the New Managing Director at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) has striven to provide humanitarian assistance and educational aid to the people of Liberia in general and citizens of Lofa in particular. USAID, Chevron Construct Modern Latrines for Paynesville Residents


Residents of three communities in one of Liberia’s biggest urban municipalities, Paynesville, have become the latest beneficiaries of the construction of three modern latrine facilities.

Golden Veroleum Donates To School In Grand Kru


Ahead of the Feb. 2nd school resumption date across Liberia, Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) on Jan. 21st donated 20 school desks to Kaybor Public School of Wedabo-Grand Cess District, Grand Kru County.
